Job summary

Professional Aircraft Accessories is seeking an NDI Technician to perform inspections on aircraft components, using test equipment and non-destructive methods from maintenance manuals.

You will identify flaws, assess corrosion, verify weld integrity, and document results, while ensuring compliance with FAA/JAA data and UTC procedures in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: Two to four years of applicable experience.

  • Other Requirements: Must be able to write descriptive statements concerning the condition of assemblies being worked on.

Responsibilities

  • Performs technical and inspection functions pertaining to the aircraft component overhaul process.
  • Must be familiar with all shop equipment operations and its maintenance and able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Performs non-destructive inspection of disassembled aircraft components according to customers specifications, airworthiness directives, applicable manufacturers CMM guidelines and UTC operating procedures
  • Maintains current knowledge of and complies with technical data provided by the customer, FAA, and/or JAA as applicable to the work assigned.
  • Maintains proper segregation and identification of components in progress.
  • Maintains inspection and test equipment.
  • Inventory management; Monitors and orders shop supplies as necessary.
  • Completes necessary related documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conducts research as necessary to determine applicable methods and procedures to perform best practice on new units.
  • Ensure all equipment and materials meets optimal operating standards IAW standard operating procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY

The NDI Technician performs inspections on aircraft components using various test equipment, working from maintenance manuals and applying current nondestructive inspection techniques. Typical inspections consist of identifying, locating and measuring surface and sub-surface flaws, corrosion and separation in bonded and honeycomb structures; determining the conductivity of materials; determining the integrity of welds; and making dimensional and volume measurements.
