Job summary

Accelera is seeking an experienced NDI Technician to conduct comprehensive Non-Destructive Inspection evaluations across various systems and materials. The role focuses on ensuring parts and processes meet strict engineering specs, customer requirements, and quality benchmarks.

Responsibilities include performing UT, PA, PT, MT, ET, and RT inspections, calibrating equipment, documenting findings, mentoring junior staff, and conducting audits to maintain compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of direct industry experience.
• Current NAS 410 certification or equivalent.
• Current UT Level I and II certifications.

Responsibilities

• Execute UT, PA, PT, MT, ET, RT methods as specified.
• Prepare and calibrate NDI instrumentation for testing.
• Evaluate components against engineering criteria and document results.
• Develop inspection methodologies per work instructions with authorization.
• Maintain inspection logs and records for quality control.

Job description

We are currently looking for a skilled NDI Technician to conduct thorough Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI/NDT) evaluations on various systems, components, and materials. Your primary objective will be to utilize authorized inspection techniques to ensure that all parts and manufacturing processes align with strict engineering specifications, customer requirements, and overarching quality benchmarks.

Core Duties

• Execute various Non-Destructive Inspection techniques, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Thermography, Shearography, Eddy Current, and Radiography.
• Prepare, calibrate, and manage NDI instrumentation to help maintain precise operational standards and reliable testing environments.
• Evaluate components and interpret findings to decide whether they meet established engineering criteria or require rejection.
• Develop specific inspection methodologies based on existing work instructions while securing necessary technical authorization.
• Conduct routine system performance evaluations and ensure all inspection logs and records are meticulously maintained.
• Document and report any identified non-conformances to help uphold rigorous quality control standards across the facility.
• Offer technical mentorship to junior staff members to foster their professional growth within NDI workflows.
• Perform surveillance audits to verify that all NDI operations remain in full compliance with customer and quality mandates.
• Analyze and interpret relevant industry codes, standards, and contractual obligations for Level III oversight.
• Assume technical accountability for the integrity of NDT facilities, equipment maintenance, and procedural adherence.
• Review and validate NDI work instructions and procedures to ensure they are technically accurate and sufficient.
• Facilitate the training, testing, and certification process for NDI team members to support organizational compliance.

Professional Background

Candidates should possess practical expertise in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and be familiar with methods such as Phased Array, Pulse-Echo, Shear Wave, and Through Transmission. You must demonstrate the ability to standardize UT equipment, interpret complex results, and apply your knowledge of NDI/NDT specifications to document findings and address non-conformances effectively.

Qualifications and Credentials

• Possess three to four years of direct industry experience.
• Hold a current Level I certification in Ultrasonic Testing.
• Hold a current Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing.
• Complete a minimum of 40 hours of formal training for UT Level I.
• Complete a minimum of 40 hours of formal training for UT Level II.
• Provide documentation of at least 800 hours of hands-on Ultrasonic Testing OJT.
• Maintain a valid NAS 410 certification or an equivalent industry-recognized credential.
