Job summary

Bell is seeking an NDI - Engineering Technician (Radiography) to support rotorcraft design, development, test, and sustainment activities at the Drive Systems Center in Grand Prairie, TX. You will develop radiography techniques, review FAI radiography submissions, and perform radiography evaluations across film, digital, and CT methods.

You will also develop and execute CT inspections for components, represent Bell at industry meetings, and collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to drive

Qualifications

  • NAS 410 Level II or III certification in Radiographic Testing (RT).
  • Experience with multiple radiographic methods, including film, digital, and/or CT.
  • Knowledge of aerospace specifications and quality requirements.
  • Foundry experience and knowledge of foundry practices for sand and investment castings preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal customers and outside suppliers.

This position is onsite at our Drive Systems Center in Grand Prairie, TX.

Bring your experience and ideas to provide specialized support through all phases of rotorcraft design, development, test, and sustainment activities for Commercial and Military programs. You will be responsible for NDE related process specifications, development, fabrication and implementation of inspection procedures, and development of new and/or unique inspection methods. You'll collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, engineering to support production.

What you'll be doing as a Non-Destructive Evaluation Technician
  • Coordinating, developing, and approving casting radiography techniques.
  • Reviewing supplier First Article Inspection (FAI) radiography submissions.
  • Performing supplier radiography process and personnel evaluations for both film and digital methods.
  • Developing, executing, and analyzing computer-aided tomography (CT) inspections for various rotorcraft components.
  • Representing Bell at industry committee meetings and conferences.
  • Developing procedures and performing inspections for structural test components, flight test programs, NDE troubleshooting for fielded fleet issues, and on-site supplier NDE assessments.
  • Supporting manufacturing inspection activities.
  • Assisting manufacturing with radiography of production parts for FOD detection and program-specific requirements.
What you need to be successful
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years radiology experience

NAS 410 Level II or III certification in Radiographic Testing (RT).

  • Experience with multiple radiographic methods, including film, digital, and/or computer aided tomography
  • Knowledge regarding aerospace specifications and quality requirements
  • Knowledge related to the inspection of castings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal customers and outside suppliers.
  • Foundry experience and knowledge of foundry practices and inspection requirements for sand and investment castings, preferred
  • Additional methods such as Penetrant Inspection (PI), Ultrasonic Inspection (UT) and Eddy-current Testing (ET) are beneficial.
