Job summary

Vast Space Llc. in Long Beach is hiring a second shift NDE Level II Inspector to support the design and build of space station components. This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Supervisor, NDE and is based in Long Beach, California.

You will perform nondestructive inspections using RT, VT, PT, ET and other certified methods, interpret radiographs, and maintain thorough inspection documentation while collaborating with Engineering and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or Associate degree preferred.
• Current NDE Level II certification in one or more inspection methods per ASNT/NAS410.
• Current RT Level II certification required; experience with digital radiography strongly preferred.
• IRRSP certification preferred; must obtain within 3 months if not present.
• 3–5 years of hands-on NDE experience in aerospace/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform nondestructive inspections using RT, VT, PT, ET or other certified methods.
• Carry out radiographic inspections on components, assemblies, and weldments.
• Interpret radiographic images per engineering requirements and standards.
• Set up/calibrate radiographic equipment and DR systems.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
• Follow radiation safety and EH&S policies.
• Assist in developing NDE procedures and work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement while meeting quality requirements.
• Train and mentor junior inspectors and contractors.
• Support cross-functional NDE activities based on production priorities.
