Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. seeks an NDE Field Service Technician to travel to power plant sites across the Americas, providing nondestructive testing services and field inspections in domestic and international locations.

Ideal candidates hold an NDE associate degree and an active certification in multiple NDE methods, with the ability to travel up to 75% per year. Relocation within reasonable distance of the Pittsburgh Service Center is preferred.

Qualifications

• NDE cert in four methods (UT/ET/PT/MT/VT/RT) required.
• Experience with Ultrasonic Phased Array and Eddy Current preferred.
• NDE associate degree required; must live within an hour drive of the Pittsburgh Service Center.
• Self-driven and able to work independently and in teams.
• 3+ years of field NDE experience with strong ownership.
• Ability to pass extended background check for nuclear facilities.

• Prepare for and support field service jobs at power plants domestically and internationally.
• Perform field inspections per Siemens requirements.
• Travel up to 75% annually to power plant sites.
• Ensure timely delivery of tools, personnel, and inspections through field service systems.

We have a need for a skilled NDE Field Service Technician. Our NDE Field Service Technicians travel to power plant sites across the Americas including the United States, Canada, Central and South America to provide nondestructive testing services.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Prepare for and support field service jobs at power plants located at domestic and international job sites.
• Perform field inspections per Siemens requirements.
• Travel (up to 75% annually for this position) to power plant sites.
• Support customer power plant outage planning and production control by ensuring the timely delivery of tools, personnel, and field inspection activities through the application of field service systems and procedures.
• Prepare shipments of test equipment for domestic and international shipping. Support the development of new and continuous improvement of existing specialty service applications and tooling for use in the field. On-site and off-site technical and operational support in the design, development, installation and maintenance of equipment and systems of a complex nature. Communicate technology and inspection findings to global Siemens team members and with internal and external customers.

What You Bring

• NDE certification in four of these methods (UT, ET, PT, MT, VT & RT).
• Experience and hours in Ultrasonic Phased Array and Eddy Current is preferred.
• NDE associates degree required and must live or relocate within an hour drive of the Pittsburgh Service Center.
• Must be Self-Driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
• Three or more years’ experience, Displays strong ownership culture.
• Must be able to pass extended background check for unescorted access to nuclear power facilities.
