Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced NDE Engineer to support naval nuclear component fabrication by overseeing nondestructive testing activities, maintaining qualification programs, and ensuring compliance with NAVSEA 250-1500-1 and MIL-STD-2132.

The role provides technical guidance, process improvements, and upholds safety throughout inspection. On-site in Euclid, Ohio, you will lead NDT personnel, review procedures, and drive lean/six sigma initiatives while collaborating with

Qualifications

• Must be capable of qualifying as an NDT Examiner for Navy specifications NAVSEA 250-1500-1 for welds, MIL-STD-2132 for base materials, and NSTR-99 personnel qualification.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience/certifications in VT, PT, MT, UT and RT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversite of NDT personnel, maintain records of qualification, monitoring and reinspection.
• Obtain and maintain examiner qualifications in VT, PT, MT, UT and RT with focus on VT and PT.
• Review NDT procedures per NAVSEA 250-1500-1 & MIL-STD-2132.
• Resolve major NDT and supplier quality problems (DSRs, RARs, REC’s).
• Design and implement inspection fixtures to increase safety and efficiency.
• Review and disposition non-conforming hardware.
