Job summary

MISTRAS Group Alaska is seeking NDE Assistants to support NDT Level II and III on the North Slope. The candidate must have a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course and be prepared for remote, demanding Arctic conditions.

Work will be 12-hour shifts in a rotation of 21 days on/21 off or 14 days on/14 off, with extended durations away from home. Candidates should be able to perform in cramped spaces and under extreme climates while following safety and training requirements.

Qualifications

• 40-hour Radiation Safety Course completed.
• NDT training and on‑the‑job training for UT/RT/PT/MT/VT per ASNT SNT‑TC‑1A is preferred but not required.
• Current IRRSP or state card is preferred but not required.
• IRATA Rope Access certification or willingness to obtain it.

Position Summary

Mistras Alaska is searching for NDE Assistants. The candidate shall have at minimum a 40-hour radiation safety course completed. The NDE Assistant will assist NDT level II and III’s. The work schedule will be a rotational hitch of 21 days on, followed by 21 days off or 14 days on followed by 14 days off. Daily work shifts will be 12 hours located on the North Slope of Alaska.

Minimum Requirements

• 40-hour Radiation Safety Course.
• NDT training and OJT for different methods (UT, RT, PT, MT, VT) per ASNT SNT-TC-1A is preferred but not required.
• Current IRRSP or state card is preferred but not required.
• Current level I or higher Rope Access certification IRATA or willingness to obtain.
• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license.

Essential Physical Functions

• Must be able to routinely lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to tolerate working in extreme climates (subzero temperatures) for extended periods of time.
• Must be comfortable working in cramped or confined spaces.
