NDE Assistant Job Description

The NDE Assistant will assist NDE Technicians in performing specific calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations. The role includes on-the-job and classroom training to develop skills as an NDE Technician.

Responsibilities

• Set up and utilize Nondestructive Test equipment
• Assist NDE Technicians in calibrating NDT equipment
• Conduct tests to ensure quality and detect discontinuities using NDE methods
• Record inspection results
• Assist in performing NDT procedures and other related tasks
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Complete and pass a DISA Background check
• Complete and pass a urine/alcohol drug screen
• Complete and pass site-specific safety training

Physical Demands and Work Conditions

• Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, color vision
• Moving and lifting objects over 50 lbs
• Climbing ladders, stairs, and scaffolding over 100 ft high
• Extended hours and standing periods
