Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking an NCLEX Success Specialist to support nursing students across Sacramento and Reno campuses, with travel up to 50%. The role is hybrid, full-time, and requires RN licensure and NCLEX experience. The position focuses on licensure initiatives, student success, and exam preparation.

Responsibilities include coordinating ATI/CAPSTONE activities, monitoring outcomes with PowerBI, and collaborating with campus Nursing Administration to drive program improvement.

Qualifications

• RN licensure current and unencumbered.
• Minimum NCLEX experience or two years of academic teaching in nursing.
• Experience with online nursing education and LMS platforms.
• Bachelor’s/ Master’s level teaching in nursing programs desired.

Responsibilities

• Support NCLEX preparation and licensure initiatives across VNPN and RN programs.
• Monitor KPI and standardize licensure activities.
• Participate in student orientation and lifecycle planning.
• Lead ATI/Capstone and test taking seminars.
• Analyze NCLEX results and develop improvement plans.
• Collaborate with Nursing Administration on NCLEX tracking.

Provide direct support for assigned state-based BSN | MPEN | VNPN campus nursing students throughout and after the nursing program supporting retention and progression of students, and in preparation for taking the NCLEX exam following graduation.

Job responsibilities:

Ensures licensure initiatives are implemented consistently across VNPN and RN programs, aligning data‑driven NCLEX preparation with student needs.

Ensure students are engaged with standardized licensure programs and aligned with departmental key performance indicators (KPI).

Participates in operations, planning and execution of new student orientation at start of student lifecycle, and again, prior to core nursing courses.

Attends, leads and participates in weekly At‑Risk meetings to identify at‑risk students and assists with exam preparation.

Leads and guides NSS ATI roles initiatives including scheduling: ATI live review, VATI, Capstone, test taking seminar.

Real‑time monitoring and analysis of PowerBI Performance Dashboard and collaboration with faculty and campus leadership to develop follow‑up plans for the following exam data: ATI Comprehensive Predictor benchmarks, Capstone exams, Practice Assessments, and other exams as deemed necessary per the curriculum.

Leads reconciling official NCLEX results to official BON results and performs deep dive analysis of students who were unsuccessful on the NCLEX examination.

Collaborates with the campus Nursing Administration in the analysis of the NCSBN Mountain Measures report and developing plans for improvement.

In collaboration with the Corporate Licensure team, Campus Academic Leaders, and faculty, NSS will track, implement and document academic support and resources for students from beginning to end of program.

Collaborates with campus Nursing Administration on NCLEX Tracking through students, instructors, and the state board of nursing website.

Mentor, guide, and support student ATI Champion representatives in providing peer mentorship. And guidance to their fellow students with ATI's best practices and resources.

Assists site staff and online didactic faculty with coordinating and enforcing policies and procedures related to ATI CMS exams and NCLEX Success.

With collaboration from campus Dean or Directors, oversees and guides new faculty to ATI Champion completion within 60 days of hire date.

In collaboration with the campus, the Nursing Administration assists onboarding by supporting new faculty with training and resources to the integration of ATI products.

Plans In‑services and Professional Development related to test taking, test writing, NCLEX, NGN preparation and success, etc.

Regular, in-person attendance up to 5 days per week on campus/on site is an essential function of this position.
This role requires on‑site collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.

Registered Nurse with current and unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure

Master’s degree in nursing required; Terminal Degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP, EdD,) preferred.

Minimum of one year of previous NCLEX experience or two years of academic teaching experience

Experience that demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor and coach students; effective communication skills, both verbal and written; pre‑licensure nursing online teaching experience required utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).

Familiarity with distance technologies Microsoft Teams to connect with students and faculty in the online space.
