Overview

Experience Qualifications: Construction work experience with a basic understanding of construction methods. Experience inspecting similar projects, including federal, municipal, transportation, ports, or marina projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site inspection and quality assurance for roadway and structure construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, contracts, and standards.
• Perform work of basic to moderate difficulty, including material testing and basic surveying.
• Maintain detailed project records, including daily diaries, photos, and inspection reports.
• Assist in training and overseeing trainee inspectors.
• Ensure safety standards in work zones and traffic control setups.
• Utilize electronic project management software and perform various administrative duties.

Qualifications

Education/Knowledge: High school diploma or GED; OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification within 3 months; knowledge of mathematics, construction methods, and materials; relevant certifications preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to interpret plans, apply mathematical principles, communicate effectively, use surveying tools, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Valid driver’s license required.

• Work is supervised but offers opportunities for independent work as skills develop.
• Requires background checks, DMV record check, and safety shoes.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
