Job summary

Advance Tank and Construction in Joliet, IL is hiring an NCCER Advanced Rigger to safely prepare, install, and operate rigging gear for lifting operations using cranes and forklifts. The role requires 3+ years of construction experience and certification, with a focus on safety compliance and precise rigging setup.

Qualifications

• NCCER Advanced Rigger Certification is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of construction experience.
• Must pass a post hire physical and substance abuse test when required by the company or its customer.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret lift plans, work instructions and construction prints.
• Inspect sites for obstructions, ground conditions and safety hazards.
• Inspect rigging gear and equipment prior to use.
• Prepare components for lifting with proper rigging, balance and secure installation.
• Interpret load charts and lifting criteria to ensure safe operations.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions as needed.
• Communicate with crane operators using proper hand signals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understand load capacity charts and safe lifting practices.
• Calculate lift weights and determine center of gravity.
• Follow crane hand signals and rigging communication standards.
• Measure plumbness, levelness, and alignment prior to operations.
• Possess general knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Be familiar with safety monitoring equipment and site safety training.
