Vizion Crane & Industrial Support, LLC is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to support crane rental, rigging, construction, and industrial projects in Houston.

You will operate mobile cranes per specs, review lift plans, perform inspections, set up equipment, and coordinate with riggers and signalers, maintaining safety and documentation. This is a field-based role requiring OSHA standards compliance and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

  • CCO crane operator certification

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate rough-terrain, all-terrain, hydraulic truck, and/or crawler cranes according to project needs
  • Perform daily pre- and post-operation crane inspections
  • Review lift plans, load charts, crane configurations, radius, and site hazards
  • Properly set up cranes (outriggers, mats, counterweights, boom configuration)
  • Verify load weights and stay within rated capacities
  • Follow signals from qualified signal persons; maintain clear communication with rigging crew
  • Participate in pre-lift meetings, JSA/JHA, toolbox talks
  • Identify unsafe conditions and exercise Stop Work Authority
  • Maintain inspection, equipment, maintenance, and operation documentation
  • Report mechanical problems and safety concerns immediately
  • Assist with mobilization/demobilization and crane equipment maintenance
  • Represent Vizion professionally with customers and site personnel

Position Summary

Vizion Crane & Industrial Support, LLC is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Crane Operator to support crane rental, specialty rigging, construction, and industrial projects.

The Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating mobile cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications, company procedures, lift plans, customer requirements, and applicable OSHA and industry standards. The operator will work closely with riggers, signal persons, supervisors, and customers to execute safe and efficient lifting operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate rough-terrain, all-terrain, hydraulic truck, and/or crawler cranes based on qualifications and project requirements.
  • Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation crane inspections.
  • Review lift plans, load charts, crane configurations, radius, capacity, ground conditions, and site hazards before performing lifts.
  • Properly set up cranes, including outriggers, mats, counterweights, boom configuration, and required attachments.
  • Verify load weights and ensure lifts remain within the crane's rated capacity.
  • Follow signals from qualified signal persons and maintain clear communication with the rigging crew.
  • Participate in pre-lift meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSA/JHA), and toolbox talks.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and exercise Stop Work Authority when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate inspection, equipment, maintenance, and operational documentation.
  • Report mechanical problems, equipment damage, incidents, and safety concerns immediately.
  • Assist with mobilization, demobilization, assembly, and disassembly of crane equipment when required.Maintain assigned equipment in a clean and professional condition.
  • Represent Vizion Crane professionally when interacting with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current NCCCO (CCO) Crane Operator Certification applicable to the equipment being operated.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • CDL preferred or required when operating equipment that requires a CDL.
  • Demonstrated experience operating cranes in construction, commercial, industrial, petrochemical, or heavy-lift environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of crane load charts, lift capacity, operating radius, boom configurations, and crane setup.
  • Ability to recognize hazards involving power lines, underground utilities, ground conditions, weather, and surrounding structures.
  • Ability to understand and follow lift plans, site safety requirements, and manufacturer operating procedures.
  • Must be able to pass company and customer-required drug/alcohol screening and site-access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating 50-ton to 300-ton+ mobile cranes.
  • Experience with Liebherr, Grove, Link-Belt, Tadano, Manitowoc, or similar equipment.
  • Industrial, refinery, plant, commercial construction, and specialty-rigging experience.
  • NCCCO certifications covering multiple crane types.
  • TWIC card.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
  • Basic rigging and qualified signal-person training.

Physical & Work Requirements

This is a field-based position. The Crane Operator must be capable of climbing into and out of equipment, working outdoors for extended periods, and working around heavy equipment and active construction or industrial operations.

Projects may require overtime, nights, weekends, shutdown/turnaround schedules, and travel depending on customer requirements.

Safety Expectations

Safety is a condition of employment at Vizion Crane. Crane Operators are expected to take ownership of every lift and will not perform an operation they believe cannot be completed safely.

Operators must comply with Vizion Crane safety policies, OSHA requirements, customer requirements, manufacturer specifications, and approved lift procedures at all times.
