Job summary

University of California, Davis is seeking a 100% on-site Track & Field Coach to lead both men’s and women’s programs. You will coach athletes, plan practices, and manage travel while actively recruiting high-caliber student-athletes to compete at the NCAA Division I level.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, three years of NCAA Division I coaching experience in track & field, and strong knowledge of throwing events and NCAA rules.

Qualifications

• CPR & First Aid certification required annually.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of NCAA Division I coaching experience in track & field.
• Knowledge of NCAA throwing events (shots, discus, javelin, hammer).
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and track & field strategies including teaching techniques and safety.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders including student-athletes, staff, parents and media.

Responsibilities

• Coach 70% of the time and recruit 30% of the time.
• Recruit prospective student-athletes.
• Assist with scheduling, team travel, and opponent scouting.
• Plan practices and support camp and clinic administration.
• Ensure full compliance with NCAA and UC Davis rules.
