Job summary

McElroy Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Programmer to turn drawings into precision-machined parts on the shop floor. You will write CNC programs using ESPRIT CAM and manual methods, ensure parts meet tolerances, and support production.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–5 years NC programming experience, and strong blueprint reading and measurement skills. This is a first-shift role on a large campus, with collaboration across machinists, engineers, and quality teams.

Job description

At McElroy Manufacturing, our CNC Programmers turn ideas and drawings into precision-machined parts that power industry-leading products. If you enjoy solving complex machining challenges, working with advanced CAM systems, and seeing your programs come to life on the shop floor, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do:

As a CNC Programmer, you’ll be responsible for creating accurate, efficient programs that ensure parts are produced safely, on time, and to McElroy’s exact quality standards. Your work will directly support production success across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Writing CNC programs using ESPRIT CAM, and manual programming methods
  • Developing programs that meet drawing tolerances, quality requirements, and production timelines
  • Supporting precision part production by optimizing machining efficiency and consistency
  • Applying operational knowledge of assigned NC machines to ensure reliable performance
  • Collaborating with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Using precision measuring and inspection equipment to verify part accuracy
  • Interpreting blueprints, diagrams, drawings, and sketches with a high level of accuracy
Schedule:
  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday | 6am - 4:30pm
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Two years of field-specific Technical or Vocational education preferred
  • 1–5 years of experience programming NC machines for precision part production
    • Relevant technical or vocational education may be considered in place of direct experience
Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong operational knowledge of assigned NC machines
  • Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection tools
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints and drawings
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and quality
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Ability to work at a computer workstation for approximately 80% of the workday
  • Remaining time may involve bending, squatting, and light lifting
  • Mobility required between multiple buildings across a large campus
