Job Details
  • Title: NC Machine Operator B - 1st shift
  • Location: Evansville, WI
  • Type: Full-time
  • Department: CNC
  • Compensation: $21.00-$24.00/hour
  • Hours: Monday - Thursday 3:00pm-1:30am; Overtime may be required based on staffing needs.
Summary

Sets up and operates numerical control machines to cut, shape, or form metal workpieces to specifications.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to work schedules.
  2. Review setup sheets and specifications for proper setup and machining sequence.
  3. Attach fixtures and secure workpieces according to instructions.
  4. Assemble and position cutting tools; insert into machine as specified.
  5. Enter commands to retrieve machine instructions from database.
  6. Operate controls to start and index the machine.
  7. Monitor machine operation for malfunctions or worn tools.
  8. Change tools and reposition workpieces as needed.
  9. Measure workpieces to ensure they meet specifications.
  10. Report discrepancies to supervisor.
  11. Keep accurate records of production and attendance.
  12. Practice safety and wear protective equipment.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
  • Proficient with hand tools and mechanical tasks.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Solid math skills for measurements.
  • Experience with CNC operations and reading blueprints.
  • Ability to translate instructions into CNC commands.
  • Problem-solving skills for production issues.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents.
  • Mathematical skills for measurements and conversions.
  • Reasoning skills to follow instructions and solve problems.
  • Possess or be able to acquire a valid forklift license.
  • Physical ability to stand, lift, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment includes exposure to moving parts, fumes, and noise.
