Job summary

Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is seeking a NC/CNC Machine Set-Up & Operate - 1st Shift in the Syracuse, NY area. Core hours are 6:30am-2:30pm, with an hourly rate of $25.89 per hour.

You will plan and perform setups on engine lathe, vertical turret lathe, radial drill press, spindle drill press, shaper, surface grinder, and milling machines. You will select tools, feeds and speeds to meet material and finish requirements and ensure close tolerances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years’ NC/CNC setup and operation experience.
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY.
• Eaton does not offer immigration sponsorship for this position.

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHDdivision is currently seeking aNC/CNC Machine Set-Up & Operate - 1st Shift. The core hours are 6:30am-2:30pm.. The hourly rate for this position is $25.89per hour.

What you’ll do:

• Plan and perform a wide variety of setups and machining operations on all machine shop equipment, including engine lathe, vertical turret lathe, radial drill press, spindle drill press, shaper, surface grinder, horizontal and vertical milling machines.
• Use all necessary machine attachments, select tools, feeds and speeds according to material and finish requirements.
• Square up and layout production run or special castings for machining operations to fairly close and close tolerances.
• Work with a variety of metals such as steel, iron, brass, bronze and aluminum.
• Layout, machine, fit and assemble jigs and fixtures to facilitate own work.
• Determine operation sequences, make computations for use of dividing head, angles, tapers, fits and assembly.
• Check parts for adequate finish allowance, defective material or faulty operation.
• Maintain equipment, machines and work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition in compliance with 5s processes.

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• Minimum two (2) years’ previous work experience in NC/CNC setup and operation
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse, NY will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
