Job summary

NWU is seeking a hands-on intern to support CT LIVE’s production team in West Hartford, CT. The role involves scheduling interviews with local businesses and community leaders, pitching segment ideas, shooting on-location, editing for broadcast, and posting content across CT LIVE’s social channels.

The ideal candidate is a current student with video editing experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution.
• Junior or above (30 credits) in good standing.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Willing to work in-person at the station in West Hartford, CT.
• Must have experience in video editing.
• Able to interface with all levels of management.
• Excellent written, verbal, and proofreading skills.

• Work alongside CT LIVE producer to schedule interviews with local businesses and community leaders
• Pitch content ideas for segments
• Shoot video while attending on-location shoots
• Edit segments for broadcast
• Post to CT LIVE’s social accounts

About You

The company is looking for:

• Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred
• Proficient in using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
• Prior video editing experience required
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and able to provide documentation to confirm degree progress
• Current class standing of junior or above (30 credits)
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
• Willing to work in-person at the station in West Hartford, CT
• Detail oriented by nature
• Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to find creative solutions to projects
• Responsible, punctual, creative, and professional
• Able to interface maturely with all levels of company management and participate in execution of strategic division and departmental initiatives
• Excellent organizational skills and able to maintain departmental operational standards
