Job summary

Draper seeks a Chief Engineer for the Navy Strategic Systems (NSS) Business Area in Cambridge, MA. You will lead a staff of engineers, coordinate cross-functional technical execution, and interact with external customers, program leadership, and partners.

This is a senior, onsite leadership role reporting to the VP of Engineering. Ideal candidates have 15+ years in related programs, 10+ years of leadership, and the ability to obtain a US government security clearance.

Qualifications

15+ years of professional experience related to NSS programs.
10+ years of demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring across large technical teams.
Exceptional communication skills with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.

Responsibilities

Excellence in program execution including phase gate reviews.
Engineering proposal coordination.
Responsible for the technical baseline, including review and approval of technical changes.
Coordination of critical program resource allocation including staff, facilities, and capital equipment.
Business development and domain awareness.
Strategic planning and coordination of critical capabilities and technologies.
