Job summary

GLOTECH, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Shipfitter to join our Chesapeake, VA team. The role involves working onboard various class U.S. Navy ships, performing layout, fabrication, and assembly to install and repair components and systems.

Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, with the ability to obtain a government security clearance. Ideal applicants will be proficient reading blueprints and have basic trade tools. OSHA 10 is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, operation, modification, repair and testing.
• Inspects assemblies for conformance with specifications using measuring tools.
• Sets up and operates soldering and welding equipment.
• Supports removal and installation of foundations, cabling, and equipment.
• Fabricates and assembles new or modified components.
• Assesses form, fit and function to meet project objectives.
• Participates in special projects as required.
• Relies on instructions and guidelines to perform duties.
