MIKEL is seeking a former or current US Navy Fire Control Technician (FT) to provide SME for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) product development. The SME will serve as the system expert for the source development of BYG-1 modernization and in-service Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) and Ready Reference Manual (RRM) content.

The role requires strong technical writing skills, knowledge of S1000D, and the ability to coordinate with engineering and project teams in Newport, RI.

Qualifications

• Understanding of US Navy Submarine operations.
• Clear understanding of technical manual structure and in-depth knowledge of S1000D technical manual standards and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in collaborative technical teams.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple documentation deliverables in a dynamic technical environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, English, Graphic Design, or related field plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Active DoD secret security clearance.

Responsabilités

• Write, edit, and manage technical documentation
• Coordinate with engineering, systems integration, and project management teams to gather technical data
• Review, validate, and provide detailed feedback on technical manual content, structure, and accuracy
• Create and adjudicate Technical Manual Deficiency Evaluation Reports (TMDERs) based on review findings
• Monitor and support key delivery milestones
