Job summary

Guidehouse seeks an Associate Director to lead program management for a Navy sustainment mission. You will work across Navy directorates, driving vision, stakeholder buy-in, and change at the SES/Flag Officer level.

Expect collaboration with DoD processes and data-driven analytics to improve operations. The role requires 7+ years in federal project management and a SECRET clearance, with Bachelor’s degree and strong leadership across diverse stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program management support across the project lifecycle with integrated master planning, schedules, risk mitigation, and stakeholder updates
  • Support and facilitate meetings and briefings, prepare presentations, gather feedback, and present insights
  • Recommend industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the task order
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure performance and communicate progress toward strategic goals
  • Create visual data representations to convey key information to diverse audiences
  • Assist in analytics and automation tool development to improve operational efficiency in Navy sustainment contexts using Jupiter Advana
  • Propose data integration and automation (RPA, VBA, Tableau) to improve processes
  • Document SOPs/instructions/guides and provide end-user training for new tools

What You Will Do:

The Associate Director will join Guidehouse to support a mission sustainment organization within the Navy. In this role, the candidate will provide leadership in support of project management operations, collaborating across Navy directorates to demonstrate vision, gain buy-in, and drive change with stakeholders. The candidate will be comfortable collaborating at the SES/Flag Officer level and understand sensitive intricacies of sustainment mission. The candidate will have familiarity with the Department of Defense/Navy Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process for sustainment programs.

Day to day responsibilities may include:
  • Provide program management support throughout the life of the project by developing and implementing an integrated master plan, detailed schedules, and risk mitigation plan, and providing updates on a consistent basis to stakeholders.

  • Support and facilitate meetings and / or briefings, prepare presentations, gather feedback, and present insights.

  • Provide recommendations regarding industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the life of the task order.

  • Develop and implement metrics to measure performance and progress towards strategic goals and communicate that progress.

  • Develop visual representations of data / relationships to convey key information succinctly and unambiguously to diverse audiences.

  • Support the development and/or improvement of analytics and automation tools to operationalize and implement operations solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Leverage the Jupiter Advana platform as the primary data lake to build on ongoing efforts across the Navy specifically at the type commands (TYCOMs).

  • Provide recommendations for data integration, system interfaces, system automation (e.g., robotic process automation (RPA), visual basic for applications (VBA), Tableau, and more) to improve processes and organization efficiency using various technologies.

  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) / instructions / guides for new or enhanced tools. Provide end user training for the new or enhanced tools.

What You Will Need:
  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance

  • A Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum SEVEN (7)+ years of experience with project management and/or executive level support with a federal customers/agencies

  • Bachelor’s degree; FOUR (4) years of additional and relevant experience may be used in lieu of Bachelor’s degree

  • Senior leadership engagement ability to drive change and buy-in across disparate stakeholder groups

What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • Navy experience (preferably with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA))

  • Familiarity with DoD/Navy PPBE process

  • Experience with Navy sustainment programs

  • Prior consulting experience

  • Ability to learn and manage a variety of technology platforms

  • Experience with data collection and/or data information sharing

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

The annual salary range for this position is $149,000.00-$248,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
