Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a skilled Material Planner to source, research, and procure materials, components, and fasteners for ship repair and maintenance operations. The role collaborates with technicians, vendors, and internal stakeholders to identify parts, obtain quotations, process purchase requests, and track delivery status.

Strong research skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings and specifications.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Able to learn and use procurement and supply chain systems.
• Ability to follow written and verbal procedures.
• Eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience with NAVSUP OneTouch, IHS Haystack Gold and Costpoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review parts requests and verify inventory availability.
• Research parts, materials, NSNs, and specifications using manuals, NAVSEA drawings, and manufacturer documentation.
• Utilize NAVSUP OneTouch and IHS Haystack Gold to identify sourcing and availability information.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes for parts, raw materials, and fasteners.
• Source structural materials, pipe, plate, bar stock, and industrial fasteners based on technical requirements.
• Process purchase requests and vendor quotations in Costpoint.
• Follow up with suppliers daily on quote and material delivery status.
• Support ship repair and maintenance operations through timely procurement of required materials.
