Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Navigation Software Engineer to join a team focused on developing, testing, and debugging software for advanced navigation systems. On-site in Woodland Hills, CA, you will integrate software with state-of-the-art hardware and work in an agile team.

The role requires experience with MATLAB/Simulink, C, and Python, plus familiarity with software management tools. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 years of software development experience; or a Master's with 3 years; or a PhD with 1 year.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for data creation, processing, and analysis.
• Proficiency in C and Python programming.
• Experience with software management tools such as Git and Jira.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a team focused on developing, testing, and debugging software for advanced navigation systems. This role offers an opportunity to enhance capabilities in software design and code development. You will perform software and system integration on state-of-the-art hardware and work within an agile and collaborative development environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and debug software for navigation systems.
• Perform software and system integration on hardware.
• Utilize software development techniques such as Model-Based Engineering.
• Collaborate with peers and internal teams in an agile environment.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Translate formal software requirements into software designs.
• Define software requirements for navigation systems.

This position may be filled at the Principal or Senior Principal level.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Software Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 years of software development experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhD with 1 year of experience.
• Experience developing software in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience with C and Python programming.
• Experience with software management tools such as ClearCase, Git, ClearQuest, or Jira.
• Experience using MATLAB to create, process, and analyze data.
• Experience using Simulink to model dynamic systems.
• Experience with Navigation Systems and INS/GPS Kalman filter design.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative development environment.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must be willing and able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance prior to starting.
• Must be able to work on-site full-time.

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8 years of software development experience; or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience; or a PhD with 4 years of experience.
• Experience developing software in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience with C and Python programming.
• Experience with software management tools such as ClearCase, Git, ClearQuest, or Jira.
• Experience using MATLAB to create, process, and analyze data.
• Experience using Simulink to model dynamic systems.
• Experience with Navigation Systems and INS/GPS Kalman filter design.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative development environment.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must be willing and able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance prior to starting.
• Must be able to work on-site full-time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DOD Secret Clearance highly preferred
• Experience in the development and performance of software tests.
• Experience using DOORS for software requirements management.
• Expertise in Sensor Fusion for Navigation Systems using IMU, GPS, and other sensors.
• Expertise in Inertial Navigation System (INS) mechanizations
• Expertise in Embedded INS/GPS navigation systems
• Experience developing software systems that comply with RTCA DO-178B/C or similar guidelines
• Demonstrated use of MATLAB for simulation and INS/GPS system performance evaluation
• Hands-on experience with communication protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, or RS-422
• Experience with code analysis and software test tools
