Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Sustainment Mechanical Engineer to support the US Navy at Crane, IN, focusing on adapting and updating assets for Conventional Prompt Strike missile systems used on new submarine classes.

You will join a collaborative team of engineers and technicians, directly supporting the Government Customer with occasional travel to Bedford, IN, and cross-functional engagement across sustainment activities at NSWC Crane.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience in engineering design, modeling, and drawing development.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and integration principles (requirements, verification and validation testing, ICDs and SEMP).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan, and report status.
  • Prepare Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) to revise official drawings.
  • Conduct Failure Analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Create Quality Acceptance documents using drawings and program requirements to validate new hardware.
