Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Systems Administrator to support NUWC Division in the Newport, RI area. You will install, configure, and maintain servers, manage access, backups, and security controls across Windows and Oracle environments.

Responsibilities include SOP development, patch management, and collaboration with lab teams to ensure system operability and data integrity on DoD networks.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• US Citizenship required.
• IAT Level 2 certification (Security+, A+, or Network+).
• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related experience (or Associate’s with 3 years).
• Experience with Windows Active Directory, GPOs, VMware ESXi, SQL Server & Oracle databases.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS versions and security best practices.
• Ability to document SOPs and designs for hardware/software deployments.
• Willingness to work at client sites with varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional testing and ensure continued operability.
• Develop and document system administration SOPs.
• Maintain baseline system security per policies.
• Manage user accounts, network rights, and access.
• Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and recovery.
• Install, update, and troubleshoot systems/servers.
• Evaluate patches and resolve software problems.
• Perform system backups and recovery.
• Enforce system administration SOPs and policies.
• Manage local network usage policies and resources.
• Monitor and maintain system/server configuration.
• Troubleshoot hardware faults and interface issues.
• Provide maintenance and information assurance for C4I systems.
• Provide Windows Server and Oracle maintenance/DBA support.
