Job summary

micro1 seeks a Naval Subject Matter Expert (Cleared) to contribute high-impact analysis for Navy decision-making at the Pentagon. You will apply deep maritime domain knowledge to train next-gen AI systems through written assessments and briefings in a secure environment.

On-site role in Arlington, VA or DC-area, requiring TS/SCI or Secret clearance within 24 months, and a strong background in naval operations, doctrine, and cross-agency coordination.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in U.S. Navy, MARAD/DOT, or comparable maritime/defense roles (O-4/O-5, GS-13/14-equivalent).
• Active TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred; at minimum, Secret clearance within last 24 months.
• Proven briefing and writing for executive or flag-level leadership in defense/government.
• Familiarity with Pentagon processes, OPNAV, NAVSEA, or PEO environments; cross-stakeholder coordination.
• Analytical judgment in high-stakes or classified environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver expert analysis on naval operations, platforms, and doctrine based on direct fleet, program, or intelligence experience.
• Assess and synthesize data to create recommendations supporting Navy planning and requirements.
• Draft concise, actionable written assessments and prepare high-level briefings for senior leadership.
• Coordinate across Navy, DoD, Intelligence Community, and industry stakeholders to gather insights and ensure mission alignment.
• Interpret and communicate recent developments in naval capabilities and maritime security relevant to customer objectives.
• Safeguard and handle classified materials (TS/SCI level) in accordance with protocols.
