Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Philadelphia, PA seeks a Shift Test Engineer to oversee safe and effective testing of steam and electric plant systems. You will advise, review documentation, and maintain protective procedures while supporting roving watches and system testing across shifts.

Responsibilities include training compliance, lockout/tagout execution, and ensuring cleanliness of systems, with weekend work as required by project needs. Security clearance of Secret is required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in design, operation, maintenance, and/or testing of marine propulsion or power systems (BS in Engineering can substitute).
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience with safety procedures and test equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Shift Test Engineer on safe and effective execution of operations and testing.
• Maintain required paperwork and review daily for completeness and accuracy.
• Complete and maintain training to perform electrical and mechanical testing of Steam & Electric Plant Systems.
• Perform watch standing duties including operating ship electrical/mechanical systems and supporting roving watches.
• Maintain lockout/tagout procedures and system cleanliness.
