Amee Bay, LLC, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a government-industry leader, is looking for a Naval Shipboard Marine Mechanic to join our team in San Diego, CA.
Shipboard Electricians perform a wide variety of tasks depending on the needs of the company.
Position Responsibilities
- Knowledge of maritime mechanical systems.
- Navy tag-out, WAF programs, and applicable Naval procedures/instructions.
- Maintain QWI and associated forms.
- Implement and monitor OSHA safety standards.
- Supervise junior personnel effectively.
- Understand shipboard mechanical machinery and systems such as main propulsion machinery, auxiliary machinery, and hydraulics.
- Troubleshoot, disassemble, and inspect Hull, Mechanical, and Electric (HM&E) equipment.
- Disassemble, clean, assess, inspect, reassemble, and test mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical system components like valves, bearings, gears, and couplings.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and torque wrenches.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, technical instructions, and manuals; make red-line drawings and design recommendations.
Position Requirements
- US Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain active Secret Security Clearance and Base Access; candidates with an active Secret Clearance are preferred.
- Experience levels:
- Minimum 10 years for 1st Class designation.
- Minimum 5 years for 2nd Class designation.
- Minimum 1 year for 3rd Class designation.
- No experience required for Craftsmen designation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Navy 'A' / 'C' school(s) or completion of a maritime or equivalent journeyman training program.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Pass drug screening.
- Furnish required hand tools for the position.
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Military experience related to the position or maritime industry experience.
- Experience with US Navy Auxiliary equipment such as cargo elevators, aircraft elevators, deck edge doors, hangar bay doors, conveyors, ammunition equipment, etc.
- Experience working on Marine Diesel Engines.
- Experience working on Gas Turbine Engines.
