Job summary

Vision Point Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled NDT Inspector to support Navy structural inspections of hulls, decks, and tanks. The role requires VT/UT/MT/PT training, ability to read ship drawings, and to produce inspection records and thickness maps. Travel up to 50% and on-site work at Philadelphia Navy offices are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Structural/Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent, or 5+ years Navy ship-structure experience.
• Experience evaluating, inspecting, maintaining, or repairing Navy ship structures.
• Knowledge of steel and aluminum ship construction and corrosion mechanisms.
• Ability to read Navy ship drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document hull plating, decks, bulkheads, frames, and tanks.
• Identify corrosion, pitting, metal loss, cracking, and weld discontinuities.
• Perform NDT within qualification; prepare thickness maps and records.
• Coordinate access and schedules with Navy personnel and shipyards.
• Prepare inspection reports and escalate significant findings to engineers and Navy client.
