Job summary

CACI is seeking a Quality Assurance Representative/Port Engineer to provide on-site ship availability program management and technical support to MSC vessels. The role involves observing shipyard work, verifying compliance with ABS/USCG, and reporting to the Principal Port Engineer.

Travel CONUS/OCOUNS 2–4 months at a time is required, with a focus on naval architecture, structural, and marine engineering expertise.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak and write English
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
• Must be able to travel CONUS/OCOUNS 2–4 months at a time
• Physically able to walk the entirety of a ship, climb ladders and access tanks
• Knowledge of ship construction, metal work and auxiliary systems

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor shipyard work to verify adherence to work package requirements and ABS/USCG regulatory requirements
• Review shipyard piping, steel and aluminum fit-ups, weld inspection and gauging; advise PPE on replacements
• Provide written daily status reports to PPE and periodic verbal updates
• Attend Quality Assurance checkpoints; report concerns to PPE
• Conduct daily rounds to observe and monitor shipyard progress and quality for assigned work items
