Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a Project Management Analyst to oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing submarine electrical engineering projects. You will liaise between project management, planning, and line management to ensure schedules, budgets, and deliverables align with program goals.

The role supports SSN 774 USS Virginia Class submarine program, providing analytical and cross-functional coordination to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience required
• Equivalent credentials listed by the ad may satisfy the degree requirement
• Master’s Degree with 1 year of relevant experience acceptable to start

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Monitor engineering progress against baseline plans and identify schedule or cost variances.
• Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, and earned value reporting.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, design leads, planning, supply chain, and production teams to ensure alignment.
• Prepare status reports, dashboards, presentations, and metrics for department leadership.
• Track engineering change requests and ensure proper documentation and closure.
• Identify project risks and support mitigation planning.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and communication.
• Maintain accurate project documentation in accordance with company and program requirements.
