Job summary

The GBS Group seeks a qualified MCS Electrical Technician to support Naval ship platforms, including lab testing, field troubleshooting, and training ship forces. You will work with designers and engineers on complex MCS systems aboard US Naval Vessels, performing diagnostics and providing on-site and lab-based support.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, testing hardware/software, and coordinating with engineers while ensuring safety and readiness.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) and Engineering Operational Sequencing Systems (EOSS).
  • Locate and trace circuit faults, replace parts, measure currents/voltages/resistances, test for shorts/continuity.
  • Knowledge of maintenance on electrical components of gas turbine engines and propulsion systems.
  • Current knowledge of US Navy MCS/MCSS or equivalent powerplant control systems experience.
  • PLC and network system experience; US Navy or processing plant experience a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for shipboard installations and troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret government clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting electrical and network control systems.
  • Setup and test network control components in a lab environment.
  • Work in a team to complete hardware and software testing.
  • Document trips/reports and required repairs; photograph hardware.
  • Provide ships force with training on system readiness.
  • Attend meetings and track/report status of assigned work.
