Job summary

QED Systems Inc seeks a Junior Instructor II to train naval personnel and civilian staff in major maintenance planning and execution. You will contribute to course development and deliver maintenance management instruction, including university-level training for junior personnel.

The role requires Navy shipboard experience, strong communication skills, and ability to operate within naval environments. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Must have served at least one tour on a U.S. Navy surface ship as shipboard Chief Engineer, Main Propulsion Assistant, Repair Officer, or SMMO.
• Minimum two major ship availabilities with at least one in a maintenance management billet as a leading chief petty officer or above.
• Two years at a U.S. Navy surface ship maintenance activity or ashore maintenance staff in a surface ship maintenance support billet.
• Two years' experience with shore management programs for surface ship maintenance (Port Engineers, Availability Work Package Managers, Type Desk Officers, Type Desk Assistants).
• Recent (within last three years) experience with Navy maintenance programs and two years conducting technical briefs at all levels of shipboard and ashore maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide training focused on major maintenance and continuous maintenance availability work planning, preparation and execution for naval personnel.
• Participate in course development and provide maintenance management training.
• Deliver standard maintenance university training to junior naval personnel and civilians when not on major maintenance training.
