Job summary

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Waterfront Knowledge Manager to support Surface Team One initiatives, enhancing planning and execution of U.S. Navy surface ship maintenance availabilities.

This role acts as the waterfront representative, improving collaboration, knowledge sharing, and fleet readiness across maintenance organizations. Hybrid work model with on-site waterfront engagement is required, supporting relationships with regional centers, shipyards, and Type Commanders to optimize

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Associate's degree with 6+ years of experience.
• High school diploma with 12+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of surface ship maintenance policies, processes, and strategies.
• Thorough knowledge of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
• Must reside in or near the assigned duty location (San Diego, CA or Honolulu, HI) and attend on-base meetings as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Government's waterfront representative supporting planning, execution, and continuous improvement of Navy surface ship maintenance availabilities.
• Attend on-site waterfront meetings and build strong relationships with Government and industry stakeholders.
• Provide technical oversight during maintenance planning, modernization, and depot maintenance execution.
• Leverage knowledge of maintenance policies to support material readiness and improve planning.
• Collaborate across organizations to improve maintenance planning, execution, and communication.
• Capture lessons learned and facilitate knowledge sharing across ship classes and waterfronts.
• Develop risk-assessed evaluations of new work modifications and support modernization planning.
