Job summary

Columbia High School in DeKalb County is seeking an experienced JROTC Instructor, Enlisted, to oversee the program for grades 9–12. Under general supervision, you will design lessons, mentor cadets, and support character development through military discipline and citizenship education.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Education, a minimum of ten years of military service as enlisted personnel, and a valid military branch certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or closely related area.
• Ten years military service as enlisted personnel.
• Three years' experience in education field preferred.
• Valid military branch certification required.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students in grades 9 through 12; prepares lesson plans and course materials.
• Maintains department budget and accounts payable/receivable for the school system.
• Maintains clothing inventory, including ordering, issuing and surveying for students.
• Trains students to meet program's extra-curricular agenda.
• Develops and mentors selected students to assume leadership positions.
• Monitors program's annual schedule and maintains program history files.
• Performs student counseling and parent conferences.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
