Job summary

IMIA, LLC is seeking a skilled Structural Equipment Operator to join a fast-paced shop fabrication team in Portsmouth, VA. You will set up and operate press brakes, CNC plasma and waterjet tables, milling machines, and related equipment to produce components meeting naval specs and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will interpret complex naval blueprints, perform precise cutting and layout work, and maintain high safety and quality levels while working in a demanding manufacturing

Qualifications

• Ability to read naval blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Experience with CAD software for layouts or cutting paths.
• Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures for quality control.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate fabrication/machining equipment including plasma cutters, waterjet and milling machines.
• Interpret naval blueprints and create cutting layouts using CAD software.
• Perform in-process and final inspections with precision measuring tools.
• Maintain machine calibration, troubleshoot issues, and follow safety protocols.
• Communicate project status and coordinate with supervision and team members.
