Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, part of HII, is seeking a skilled sheet metal fabricator to assemble, install and repair production metal components per blueprints. Work with CNC presses, inspect assemblies and collaborate with engineers to ensure part quality.

You will read blueprints, set up fabricating machinery, verify dimensions, and maintain tooling, while adhering to shipyard quality standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and related experience.
• Apprentice/Associate degree with relevant experience; certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal per blueprints and specs.
• Operate fabricating machinery and read work packages.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure machine and part capability.
