Job summary

The United States Navy seeks personnel for the Advanced Electronics and Computer Field, to train as Electronics Technician (ET) or Fire Controlman (FC). This role supports radar, communications, navigation, LANs, and combat systems aboard ships and ashore.

You will progress from Recruit Training to specialized A Schools, earning ratings based on performance and Navy needs. Expect hands-on lab work, shipboard and shore facility assignments, and opportunities for classified or specialized

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent for enlisted positions.
• A strong aptitude for electronics, and the ability to learn complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate, and repair radar, communications, navigation, and related systems.
• Troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical faults using documentation and test equipment.
• Support inspections, certifications, and readiness through accurate logs and configuration control.
• Work in shipboard spaces and labs with safety and procedure adherence.
