Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Washington, DC is looking for a motivated Junior Engineer Intern for Summer 2025. This internship offers hands-on experience in supporting engineering ship design projects, including tasks like electrical design and analyses. You will work alongside experienced engineers and gain exposure to real-world challenges in the field. This role requires strong communication skills, knowledge of CAD software, and a commitment to learning and growth in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
Experience with CAD software is essential.
Responsibilities
Perform engineering site visits and ship checks at Navy and Commercial Shipyards.
Conduct electrical analyses and generate 2D electrical design drawings.
Collaborate with senior engineering staff to generate final electrical products.
Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Analytical abilities
Ability to create graphical representations
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Knowledge of SolidWorks
Education
Pursuing BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
