During these visits, you will conduct electrical analyses, generate 2D electrical design drawings, and implement electrical power systems, electromechanical systems, and control system modifications. You will also be tasked with performing electrical feasibility and trade‑off studies for the selection of generators, motors, variable frequency drives, transformers, Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), control panels, cables, timers, circuit breakers, power panels, batteries, and relays.

Additional responsibilities will include performing preliminary checks of electrical drawings, conducting Excel calculations, collaborating with senior engineering staff to generate final electrical technical products (e.g., 2D AutoCAD schematic drawings), and reviewing regulatory rules and commercial regulations. Strong interpersonal skills will be required to work effectively with others and communicate complex technical issues.

Qualifications

To qualify for this internship, you must be pursuing a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Engineering (BSE/BE), or a BS/AS in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET). You must also be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance.

Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical abilities, and the ability to create graphical representations and PowerPoint presentations. You should also be willing to travel up to 10% of the time and perform design ship checks onboard MSC and Navy ships.
