Job summary

R&P Technologies is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the U.S. Navy's LPD 17 Shipbuilding Program in Pascagoula, MS. You will assist with testing, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of HM&E and Mission Systems aboard ships at the building yard.

The role requires a Secret clearance or eligibility, with opportunities to contribute to on-site testing and sea-trial coordination across locations. Competitive compensation and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED plus 5–10+ years of relevant work experience.
Associates degree in engineering preferred but not required.
Active Secret Clearance or eligible to obtain one.
DoD/Navy ACAT I Program and Amphibious Assault Ship Class experience is a plus.
Experience with Deck System is preferred.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
Capacity to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

Support on Deck/Mission Systems equipment.
Assist Test Division in ship acquisition, integration and post-delivery testing.
Troubleshoot, repair, and test shipboard electrical systems and interior communications equipment.
Develop and review test procedures and witness equipment and system testing.
Inspect equipment installations.
Provide on-site test engineering and technical support for ship industrial testing.
Coordinate liaison with Supervisor of Shipbuilding and other Navy and Contractor activities.
Participate in at sea trials at Norfolk, San Diego, Mayport, Pearl Harbor and Sasebo.
