Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required.
• Active Secret clearance to start is required.
• 6+ years of full-time professional computer engineering experience.
• 2+ years in requirements definition, system design, or related areas.
• Experience in Linux environments and Linux administration.
• Experience supporting the software application lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Ability to maintain consistent performance across a deployable software suite.
• Experience creating system administration manuals and technical documentation.
• Capability to plan hardware/software replacement strategies to reduce obsolescence risk.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform research, development, design, integration, testing, and lifecycle support for computer-based, electronic, and embedded systems with naval applications.
• Support field operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance for electronic installations and engineering development systems.
• Evaluate operational systems and recommend design changes to resolve malfunctions or improve performance.
• Use computer-assisted engineering tools for engineering and systems integration tasks.
• Support Linux-based engineering environments, including setup, troubleshooting, permissions, and security administration.
• Manage requirements gathering, software development coordination, testing, and implementation for software in the FOROPS model for final validation.
• Ensure software releases meet deployable standards and maintain lifecycle consistency of deployed software suites.
• Conduct technical research to reduce hardware and software obsolescence risks.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and support training.
• Possibly lead limited engineering tasks assigned to junior personnel.
