Job summary

Digital Consultants LLC in Charleston, SC seeks an Engineer I to provide technical support to the Navy’s Fleet Submarine Very Low and Low-Frequency Broadcast Engineering Support team. The role covers electronics troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of terminals, wiring, testing equipment, and coordination with vendors; a BS in engineering or physics and at least two years of experience are required.

Clearance: Secret.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years hands-on electronics design, repair, maintenance, and checkout.
Formal electronics training including installation tasks, soldering, cabling, conduit, and connector making/repairing.
Experience with high-powered broadcast systems installation and non-standardized procedures.
Strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory and mathematics.
Experience in circuit modeling and design.
Familiarity with NAVELEX 0101,110 criteria and practical applications.
Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators.
Exposure to MS Project and system installation planning.

Responsibilities

Perform a range of electronic and technical tasks related to data communications equipment and systems.
Troubleshoot terminals using specialized diagnostic equipment.
Install terminals, controllers, and testing equipment; restore lines to optimal condition.
Handle wiring and cabling installation and termination tasks.
Coordinate with vendors; order circuits and equipment as necessary.
Test, troubleshoot, and repair circuit boards (2M/3M).
Interpret and implement electronic, electrical, mechanical, and installation drawings.
Gather and interpret requirements and conduct site surveys.
Execute installations, relocations, and modifications of telecom equipment.
Participate in system upgrades and provide maintenance insights.
Diagnose malfunctions and perform maintenance per manufacturer specs.
Report and monitor service order changes.
