Job summary

HII's Ingalls Shipbuilding internship program offers college students hands-on experience in naval architecture engineering and related technical roles in Pascagoula, MS. Interns gain exposure to ship construction environments and may qualify for future full-time opportunities.

Participants must be 18+, enrolled in a relevant degreed program, and able to work full-time for about 10 weeks, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and successful background checks.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age before the start of the summer intern program (Mid-May).
• Be enrolled in a degreed program that supports the company’s business requirements, typically in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering.
• Attend a college/university in the fall following the internship.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Complete a background check, physical, and hair follicle drug screen.
• Work a 40-hour week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience in technical or administrative roles within Ingalls Shipbuilding.
• Assist in projects related to naval architecture and engineering as assigned by mentors.
• Comply with safety, security, and site access requirements when visiting shipyards or work sites.
