Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Naval Architect/Structural Engineer to work onsite at MARMC in Norfolk, VA, Code 241/242. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in ship structural work and corrosion assessments.

Responsibilities include inspections, assessment, corrective actions, and processing ESR/Departure from Specification requests. Candidates must be U.S. citizens able to obtain a DoD clearance and may travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • BS from ABET-accredited program in Structural Engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • Minimum of three years hands-on experience inspecting ship structures and performing repairs.
  • Three years of structural analysis experience complying with Navy standards.
  • Must be a US citizen eligible for DoD Secret clearance (interim by day one if needed).
  • Travel up to 10% may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance, assessment, and corrective actions as tasked.
  • Conduct inspections and assess ship condition to determine corrective actions.
  • Respond to Engineering Service Requests and Departures from Specification when applicable.
  • Complete corrosion-related certification courses within 8 months after hire.
