Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Naval Architect/Structural Engineer with 3+ years of experience to work onsite in MARMC's Code 241/242 at Norfolk, VA. This role focuses on evaluating ship structures, performing inspections, and recommending corrective actions. Candidates must have ABET-accredited degree in structural engineering or naval architecture (mechanical engineering acceptable with naval background), and be a U.S.

citizen eligible for a DoD Secret clearance. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Structural Engineering or Naval Architecture from ABET-accredited school.
• 3+ years experience assessing, repairing, maintaining US Naval ship structures.
• 3 years of structural analysis to Navy standards.
• US citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (interim by Day One).
• Travel may be <10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance, assessment, and corrective actions.
• Inspect current ship condition and determine corrective path forward.
• Answer ESRs and Departures from Specification when applicable.
• Complete corrosion-related certification courses within 8 months after hire.
