Overview

We are seeking a Naval Architect to support our Washington, DC office. The candidate will analyze ship hulls and superstructures, lead multidisciplinary teams through prototype development and testing, and evaluate vessel performance. Responsibilities include ensuring designs meet national and international standards for surface combatant ship programs.

What will you do?

  • Provide analysis on ship hulls and superstructures.
  • Study design products and specifications to establish basic characteristics of a ship, such as size, weight, and speed.
  • Lead teams from various specialties to oversee building and testing prototypes.
  • Evaluate ship performance during trials, both at dock and at sea.
  • Modify designs as needed to meet standards.

Do you have what it takes?

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have active DoD Secret Clearance and ability to sustain it.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Experience with DoD/DoN procedures and policies (e.g., DoD 5000 process).
  • Experience in surface combatant ships.

Pay Range: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $74,500-$110,050 annually, considering various factors such as experience, education, and market considerations.

This position is contingent upon contract award.
