Job description

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Naval Architect with at least 5 years of industry experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ship design, structural analysis, stability assessment, and marine engineering. As a Naval Architect, you will lead design projects, manage technical teams, and ensure the creation of safe, efficient, and innovative marine vessels and structures

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and development of marine vessels, offshore platforms, and other marine structures.
  • Oversee and conduct structural, hydrodynamic, and stability analyses of vessels to ensure safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and refine ship designs, including hull forms, structural components, and propulsion systems.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support in project execution.
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications, reports, and presentations for clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
  • Perform strength, fatigue, and load analysis to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards and classification society rules.
  • Collaborate with project managers, shipyards, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Review and assess project documentation, including design drawings, technical reports, and construction plans, for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in naval architecture, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to project proposals, tender documents, and bid evaluations, providing technical input and cost estimates.
  • Ensure the integration of sustainability and energy-efficient solutions in design proposals.
  • Coordinate and support the construction process, providing technical oversight during vessel construction and sea trials

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in technical report writing and presentations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proven ability to oversee design from concept to delivery, including construction and sea trials.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed for inspections, tests, and project-related task
  • Familiarity with international environmental regulations and sustainability goals

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in naval architecture or marine engineering
  • Strong expertise in ship design, stability analysis, and structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software (AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar).
  • Extensive knowledge of marine classification society rules and international maritime regulations (e.g., ABS, CFR, DNV, LR).
  • Experience in managing or leading multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
  • Experience with FRP design and construction
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Knowledge of marine propulsion systems, energy efficiency, and alternative fuels.
  • Prior experience with both commercial vessels, pleasure craft and yachts are a plus.
