Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related field is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in naval architecture, marine engineering or marine construction.
• Experience with dredging equipment, barges or workboats is strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing engineering packages for ABS and USCG approvals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 2D/3D drawings for vessels and equipment using AutoCAD.
• Design modifications to dredges, barges, vessels and marine construction equipment.
• Develop layouts, engineering sketches, field modifications and as-built drawings.
• Review vendor drawings, verify field dimensions and perform engineering calculations.
• Manage engineering and fabrication projects from concept through completion.
• Coordinate with Operations, Project Managers, vendors and subcontractors.
• Develop project schedules using Microsoft Project and monitor milestones.
• Prepare specifications and material take-offs for fabrication and procurement.
• Prepare package submissions for ABS, USCG and other regulators.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and support inspections and certifications.
• Provide onsite engineering support for dredge, vessel and construction projects.
• Verify installations and troubleshoot issues with operations teams.
