Job summary

Loews Miami Beach Hotel is seeking a Pool Barback to support a vibrant poolside bar. You'll replenish beverages, assist bartenders, and help maintain a clean, organized workspace in a fast-paced, resort environment.

This role offers the chance to contribute to guest experiences by ensuring smooth service, stocking supplies, and collaborating with bartenders, servers, and bar managers. Prior bar/restaurant experience and the ability to lift 75 lbs are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting preferred.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Flexible to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Replenish bar supplies: liquor, beer, wine, ice, glassware, and garnishes.
• Assist bartenders with setup and breakdown of the bar.
• Prepare garnishes and drink essentials.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and organize tools and supplies.
• Monitor stock levels and alert when supplies run low.
• Provide friendly service and help guests with requests.
• Support bar flow during peak hours and ensure timely drink delivery.
• Follow health, safety, sanitation guidelines and alcohol laws.
• Attend mandatory trainings and adapt to varying schedules.

What You Will Do:

• Replenish and restock the bar with liquor, beer, wine, ice, glassware, garnishes, and other supplies throughout the shift.
• Assist bartenders with setting up and breaking down the bar before and after shifts or events.
• Prepare garnishes such as lemon, lime, and orange wedges, as well as other drink essentials like cherries and olives.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area by washing and drying glassware, wiping down bar surfaces, and removing trash regularly.
• Keep the bar organized, ensuring that all tools, equipment, and supplies are easily accessible to bartenders.
• Clear dirty glasses and empty drinkware from guest tables and bar counters.
• Monitor bar stock levels and alert bartenders or management when supplies are running low.
• Provide polite and friendly service to customers, such as assisting with basic requests or answering questions.
• Ensure that customers' needs are met by keeping bartenders supported and the bar running efficiently.
• Work closely with bartenders, servers, and bar managers to ensure the smooth flow of service during busy periods.
• Support bartenders by helping prepare and run drink orders during peak hours, ensuring a timely delivery of beverages.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for beverage handling and bar cleanliness.
• Ensure compliance with alcohol laws and regulations, such as checking that all drink orders are handled responsibly.
• Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
• Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications Include:

• Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting preferred.
• Ability to lift/pull/push 75 plus pounds.
• This position requires continual bending, lifting, carrying and stooping.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Capability to perform duties in an outdoor environment, adapting to various weather conditions.
• Must be flexible to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
